Chili's Molten Lava Cake
My OB told me to watch for my diet. Only 2 kg weight gain are allowed per month. To do this, i should stay away from sweets and minimize carbs.
But what will you do if your friend will treat you at Chili's. Me, i just cant resist the invitation. I just hope that we will not grow too big (me and baby) so i can still have a normal delivery.
Anyways, In short.. I gave in to the invitation and guess what i requested for dessert? -->Molten Lava cake.. :-)
How will i describe this cake? Its a moist chocolate cake with a hot chocolate fudge filling. And topped with a vanilla ice cream coated with crunchy chocolate.
Im not an expert in describing taste but i love the taste of how the hot chocolate fudge and vanilla ice cream mixed. This dessert is always in my request list everytime we go at chili's.
Thanks to malou for the treat!! I just hope that i will not exceed the 2kg weight gain allowance this month. Last month, i gained 3.5kg. :-(

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil, Rosehip Fragrance
I have been using body oil ever since I became pregnant since I noticed that my skin are more dry now compared before.
When I reached my 28th weeks of pregnancy. Aside from the itchiness that ive been experiencing, I notice uneven skin tone in my skin. This is quite new, I never had uneven skin tone during my 1st pregnancy. I also did not gain stretch marks during that time.
I stumbled with PALMER'S SKIN THERAPY OIL WITH ROSEHIP at PCX. This cost 690 php for 150 mL bottle.
It has a promising label. As it was formulated to improve the appearance of:
1. Scars
2. Stretch mark
3. Dry, Damaged skin
4. Uneven skin tone
5. Aging sign
I tried it yesterday while my skin is still moist damp from shower. I can say that my skin is more firm, I feel more moisturized and nourished - goodbye dryness. I also love its smell and it is not greasy as compared to the other body oils that i have tried.
But, its too early to say that it helps on the improvement of scars, stretch mark and uneven skin. Will post my update post pregnancy..
Acacia Hotel Alabang
We stayed here for a one day vacation. If you already have a kid.. staying nearby is the most easiest thing to plan.
We love this hotel.. Its very clean, room is spacious. Friendly and accommodating staff. And most especially its not that expensive as compared to other hotels in alabang. We only paid 3500 php for a Deluxe room (Agoda price). This includes breakfast for two.
The bed is big and comfortable, I could stay on it all night. I also love their pillows |
Our room has a good view of alabang.
Also, their is a celebration that night and we have the opportunity to watch the occasion by our window.
Pool Area - It was raining that time, Good thing we have a bathtub in our room which made japheth free to play and swim all day.
Your camera would never go wrong with their hotel lobby since it has a good lighting.
Inside Acaci
We are satisfied with their breakfast buffet since it has a lot of options
Happy Japheth? Happy? |
Happy! |
Parque Espana Alabang
We stayed at Parque espana to celebrate New year.
The room is really spacious and very homey. We had one bathroom, living room, kitchen, dining room and a bedroom.
Limited soap and shampoo available in the bathroom. No toothbrush and slippers. Also, no bags provided for dirty laundry
Shuttle is available to and from near malls (ATC and festival). You just need to call the lobby to bring and fetch you there
They have a buffet countdown to 2014 but we did not avail it since buffet menu was few. By 6 pm, we decided to order early at the hotel restaurant knowing that they need to cater lot of orders later on. Unfortunately, as early as 6pm they are no longer accepting orders for the media noche. Whhatttt?? Panic mode, what will be our food for the night?
Good thing, there's always a 24/7 pizza delivery. We ordered at dominoes pizza and bought cake at Conti's as an alternative.
The view from our room are fireworks from las pinas city |
The morning after, we went to bistro del cielo to avail our free breakfast. I have no positive things to say.. The hotel restaurant is small and crowded. Buffet menu is also few and not really satisfying :(
Japheth's pancake looking sad... |
Japheth excited to go on swimming |
The pool is also small but japheth enjoyed swimming in it.
Overall, i have a few positive and lot of negative experience on this hotel. This hotel are good if you are on a business trip and would be staying for a number of days since all rooms has its own kitchen. Microwave, pots and pans are available. It is also good to use as a bridal room, baby and bridal shower.

If you ask me, if we would go back. Maybe not for now until they have improve their food and restaurant services.
We paid 5,000 php (including tax) for their standard room at agoda

POBOX.PH
I love online shopping. Imagine a 5000 Php Avent breastpump here in our mall will only cost less than 2500 Php (including the freight cost) from online store.
Unfortunately, majority of the online sites I know do not deliver directly to the Philippines.
Amazon now can deliver to Philippines thru EMS but I had a bad experience before in EMS, They do not deliver door to door. You have to go to your local post office to claim your package. And you will also need to pay custom fee. There is a certain computation for the custom fee.
I got this computation from Bureau of Custom site.
Total Duties and Taxes =Customs Duty+ VAT+ IPF+ Excise Tax (if applicable)
1. Customs Duty =Customs Value (Dutiable Value) x Foreign Exchange Rate x Rate of Duty
- Dutiable Value = Cost of Goods+ Freight + Insurance+ Other Charges and Costs
- Rate of Duty = As per classification of goods under AHTN, Section 104, TCCP
2. VAT = 12% of Total Landed Cost (TLC)
- TLC = Dutiable Value+ Bank Charges+ Customs Duty+ Customs Duty+ Customs Duty+ Arrastre Charge+ Customs Documentary Stamp (CDS)+ Customs Documentary Stamp (CDS)++ Import Processing Fee (IPF)
I dont know how strict they are but the last time i paid 2T for a 5T product i bought from China while my friend only paid 50 php for a watch she bought from Amazon.
Good thing I got to know Pobox. I have tried them 3x for a package i bought from Amazon and Babies R' Us.
The step is so simple.
1. Register on their online site
2. Purchase an item online and have it delivered at Pobox warehouse
3. Fill out the shipping form online
4. Contact them thru email so you can settle your payment. You can pay online thru paypal or credit card
5. Wait for 4-5 weeks and your item will be delivered at your door
They charge packages according box sizes. This includes the insurance which up to $200. You have an option to add $5 per $100 in excess on the original coverage. They also do consolidation, meaning you can shop from different online stores and they will combine it all in one box.
This is how they packed my box
On the negative side, you can never be sure on how safe your package will be.
A damage/broken cover of my cookie butter and a dented feeding bottle box.
BTW, Pobox.ph is in partner with Forexworld. And they also offer the same services as pobox. Maybe next time i will also try Forexworld services for my online shopping
